Recipes from a wet and wild week - heading into August

This is a very warming combo: honeyed kumara with chickpea and tomato stew,  with a splodge of plain yoghurt on top if you want to give it a tangy finish... vegan, DF and GF

This Curried Swede Soup is creamy and warming and substantial... pretty much everything you want in a soup at this time of year...It has the triumvirate of veg at the start to give it a good rounded flavour base (onion, carrot and celery), a blend of mild curry and turmeric for a splash of colour and warmth, and coconut milk to make it creamy and delicious... Vegan, DF and GF

The red lentil fritters are very crispy! They're fried in coconut oil which makes a big difference. I have a friend who used these as her go-to for shared finger food lunches, but they're so good you might prefer not to share... There's smoked paprika and a pinch of cayenne to give smoke and heat... vegan, DF and GF

This is a parsnip and cashew curry - has curry powder, turmeric, cumin and coriander in the spice blend and is also Vegan, DF and GF. It's very tasty!

This is a Massamen Chicken curry - I honestly have no idea how authentic it is, so please don't judge me on this! But I do know it's delicious.... and SO easy to pull together. It has chunks of potato and some peas, it has peanut butter and tamarind (less obvious from the photo but evident in every tasty bite), massamen curry paste and coconut milk ... DF and GF

And finally there is Fish poached in tamarind broth... with the addition of some noodles and matchsticks of vegetable you have a light and yet substantial meal... Yum and Yum. DF and GF
